Our Story.
Founded in Cavan, Ireland in 1963, as a family business, our focus quickly moved to the world stage when we first began exporting pneumatic tools to the UK. Over the years we expanded into burs, cutting tools and abrasives in the UK, Europe and the US. Our growth over the past 60 years, has been underpinned by our commitment to delivering quality products and services to our customers wherever they are in the world.

ESTABLISHED
ATA is established as a manufacturer and distributor of pneumatic tools.
UK EXPORTS
1975
ATA exports its products to the UK for the first time.
1976
PROCUT
Procut is established in Cavan, Ireland, as a manufacturer of carbide burrs.
PCT
1991
PCT completes the acquisition of ATA.
2005
MORRISFLEX
ATA acquires Morrisflex, a high quality UK carbide burr manufacturer.
ATA ACQUISITION
2008
Peter Cosgrove and equity partners acquire ATA from PCT.
2010
ALPINE ABRASIVES
ATA acquires Alpine Abrasives, a UK niche abrasive converter.
SGS PRO
2012
ATA acquires the burr division of US precision manufacturer SGS.
2014
GARRYSON
ATA acquires UK based Garryson, a leading manufacturer of carbide and abrasive products.
MBO
2016
Management acquire overall control buying out equity partners, backed by AIB and Bank of Ireland.
2019
KARNASCH
ATA acquires Karnasch, a leading German cutting and industrial tooling specialist.
ATA Tools Suisse
2021
ATA acquires specialist micro-tool manufacturing capability of Swiss company, Näpflin.
2022
VAN HOORN CARBIDE
ATA acquires Van Hoorn Carbide, a leading solid carbide end mill specialist from The Netherlands.
ITC
2022
ATA acquires UK based specialist solid carbide and PCD tool supplier ITC.
